How to join

To become a member of the Friday Shakespeare Club of Santa Cruz, you must attend two meetings and find a sponsor willing to write you a letter of recommendation (we're a friendly bunch and finding a sponsor is not so hard as it sounds!).

Obligations of membership include active participation in a play committee and participation in one or more business committees, such as those for planning luncheons or other special events or duties (to find out more about play committees and luncheons, check our about page). A member who holds executive office is freed from the duty of being in a business committee but still must participate in a play committee.

There is a yearly membership fee of $20.

Meetings are on the first and third Fridays of each month, October to June. This schedule sometimes changes based on holidays or other restrictions and it’s best to check our calendar to be sure of the dates.

The Friday Shakespeare Club of Santa Cruz meets in the Lounge of the First Congregational Church, at 900 High Street, Santa Cruz. Meetings are from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The President’s Luncheon, Birthday Luncheon, and Annual Picnic are not held at our usual location, and are not appropriate for guests to attend for this reason.
